Supporting food resilience, strengthening supply continuity

Abu Dhabi Food Hub strengthens regional food resilience by enabling reliable trade flows, disciplined handling, and structured supply continuity across the food value chain.

Abu Dhabi Food Hub supports long-term food resilience by enabling more efficient sourcing, handling, storage, and circulation of food across the region. As climate patterns and supply chain volatility reshape global food systems, the Hub provides a structured environment that supports continuity and preparedness.

We combine modern infrastructure with disciplined operational standards to keep food moving reliably. From temperature-controlled facilities to coordinated trade flows, every part of the Hub is designed to maintain availability, reduce loss, and respond to shifting market conditions with stability.

Aligned with the UAE's food security priorities, Abu Dhabi Food Hub contributes to availability, accessibility, and stability across the food value chain. We support producers, traders, and distributors with the systems they need to operate confidently, ensuring food reaches the market consistently, even as the global trade environment continues to evolve.

How we strengthen

supply continuity

Resilience is built through coordinated action across infrastructure, operations, and partnerships. The Hub focuses on four areas that strengthen continuity at every stage of trade, supporting producers, traders, and the wider regional food system.

Reliable trade flows keep food moving across the region. Through coordinated logistics, customs support, and integrated infrastructure, the Hub maintains availability and reduces disruption across import, export, and distribution channels.

Efficient processes and purpose-built infrastructure improve how food is handled and stored. Temperature-controlled facilities, smart logistics, and quality protocols reduce loss and protect product integrity across the supply chain.

Distribution linkages connect local producers and farmers to wider commercial markets. The Hub provides structured access to buyers, traders, and retail networks, strengthening domestic supply and supporting agricultural growth.

Collaboration with global producers, trade partners, and regional networks broadens supply diversity. This reduces dependency on single sources, strengthens reserves, and builds long-term resilience across the UAE's food system.

National Food Security Strategy 2051
National alignment

Anchored in the UAE's National Food Security Strategy 2051

The UAE launched the National Food Security Strategy 2051 in 2018, with the ambition of becoming a world-leading hub in innovation-driven food security and topping the Global Food Security Index by 2051. The Strategy focuses on facilitating global food trade, diversifying import sources, and securing three to five supply routes for each of the 18 main food categories in the national food basket.

Abu Dhabi Food Hub supports this national agenda directly. By creating the infrastructure, trade flows, and partnership networks that strengthen the UAE's position as a global food trade gateway, the Hub helps reduce dependency on single supply routes and broadens access to diverse, reliable sources. With more than 90 percent of the UAE's food currently imported, our role is to ensure those imports are structured, resilient, and supported by the systems needed to maintain stability across the food value chain.
